Description

The K2 Black Panther is the modern Main Battle Tank of the South Korean armed forces, with variants exported to Poland with potential exports slated for Morocco and Iraq.

Originally designed as a derivative of the American M1 Abrams tank by General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS), produced in Korea by Hyundai Rotem and named the K1, The K2 is a modernised version used by the Korean armed forces as well as the Polish Army with numerous upgrades and redesigned aspects, such as the inclusion of a soft kill APS which launches Multi Spectrum Smoke Grenades in the direction of incoming missiles to disrupt guidance and prevent a hit on the tank, or the inclusion of a modern CN08 120MM Cannon designed to fire NATO standard rounds, Korean indigenous K279 APFSDS-T rounds as well as the new KSTAM-I and KSTAM-II top attack munitions.

This Kit contains Multiple additions to further the realism of it, including reflective stickers to imitate the polarised glass of the K2’s viewports as well as the addition of the realistic track system from Academy.

This Model Kit from Academy models was first released to the public in 2017 with various new tools, however this is the original tool from 2017.
